Google Webmasters Tools is a tool created by Google. It helps website owners, administrators, managers, and SEO specialists to make their website popular on the Internet. You can enter at Google Webmasters Tools and go to the sign-in button using a Google account.

Once logged you can add a new website using the red button named “Add a Property”, just enter the URL of your website. The next step is to press the blue button “Continue” and verify your ownership of the entered website.

There are several methods to verify an ownership of a website. It depends on your access type and on the sort of content management system you use.

First, you need to download the HTML file that has the name of the Google code. And next you need to upload it to your website’s root folder.  Then confirm the upload by going to the file’s link from your website. This is the recommended method by Google.
